Bondowoso, East Java – The coffee production outlook for the Ijen–Bondowoso highlands in 2026 is showing strong momentum as the region enters its peak harvest season.
According to agricultural cycle estimates and regional production patterns, the Ijen Arabica coffee harvest in 2026 is expected to reach approximately 4,000 – 6,000 metric tons of green beans, supported by improved farming practices, ongoing replanting programs, and favorable highland climate conditions. During peak harvest periods, daily export flow is projected to reach up to 2–3 containers per day, equivalent to approximately 40–66 metric tons of green coffee daily.
The Ijen area within Bondowoso Regency remains one of Indonesia’s key Arabica-producing origins, known for its clean, sweet, and specialty-grade coffee profile. The region’s harvest window typically peaks between April and August, aligning with Indonesia’s main Arabica production cycle.
Recent agricultural improvements, including replanting programs and post-harvest innovation in the Ijen coffee sector, are expected to further increase yield stability and quality consistency heading into 2026.
Within this supply chain, PT Indocoffee Global Export is among the active exporters facilitating international distribution of Ijen coffee, supporting shipments to key markets including Europe, Asia, and the Middle East as global demand continues to strengthen.
Industry estimates suggest that the wider Java–Ijen coffee zone continues to play a strategic role in Indonesia’s export supply chain, contributing significantly to national production levels that exceed 12 million 60-kg bags annually. Within this structure, Ijen–Bondowoso is increasingly recognized as a high-volume premium origin capable of scaling both specialty and commercial-grade output.
With increasing demand from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, exporters in the region are preparing for significantly higher shipment volumes throughout the 2026 season, with Ijen positioned as one of the most active sourcing origins in East Java.
A local industry representative noted that the Ijen harvest is increasingly positioned as a “premium high-volume origin supply base,” driven by both specialty-grade consistency and expanding global buyer demand.
